What's the difference between artificial intelligence and robotics?

#1

I hear both of these mentioned often and so I have to ask…

what are the key differences between artificial intelligence and robotics?

#2

I will start by saying I am not an expert on ai (if I was I would be the first lining up for those $1m+ salaries in silicon valley)

But in my understanding…

A basic distinction would be:

Robotics involves…
creating machines that can carry out sensory system that can carry out human tasks

AI involves…
the intelligence displayed by machines. There are different sub-sets of AI such as machine learning and neural networks…

I think a great analogy would be that robotics is the equivalent of the bodily functions of humans and AI is the brain function.

That is my understanding…
